Whether planning a future UAT cycle or reviewing past expenses, this calculator breaks down direct costs across key areas, helping you budget effectively and identify opportunities for cost optimization. Please note that these are only surface-level costs, and do not include the hidden costs of poorly planned and executed UAT/product launches. We are working on more tools to help you identify these costs, feel free to reach out for a sneak peak before they’re released.

Defect Costs Breakdown:

Defect costs are calculated using hourly rate data entered in “UAT Execution” & defect data in “Defect Costs” tables. The final defect cost is the sum of the developer’s cost to fix the defects + the tester’s cost to retest them.

  • Total: The total number of defects identified during UAT.
  • Fix Time (hrs): The estimated number of hours required to fix each defect. This is multiplied by the developer’s hourly rate.
  • Retest Time (hrs): The estimated number of hours required to retest each defect. This is multiplied by the UAT tester’s hourly rate.
